Verizon vs. Comcast Redux: BEWARE

By on Sep 10, 2014 | 0 comments

A few months ago, I wrote a post about choosing a high speed internet provider when you have a choice between the big giants, Comcast and Verizon. At that time, I wrote that after five years, we were less than thrilled with Comcast, and that we had switched to Verizon. Well, I am here to tell you that when it comes to GINORMOUS telecommunications companies, poor customer service and broken promises seems pretty “par for the course”. When The Digital Docs switched to Verizon at the end of May, our super-eager sales rep PROMISED a $200 gift card to offset the cost of initial fees. Four months later, with multiple emails and telephone calls to said sales rep, our promised $200 card is nowhere to be found. Oh, and just an aside: the promised monthly rate is about 20% higher than we were told! Just a head’s up folks: get it in writing, and hold their feet to the fire. I wish there was an alternative!
